Common questions
Pricing is on the pricing page. Trade-user questions are listed below. Pricing · Getting started · See a sample report first
I need to know whether this supplier exists. Which action should I use?
BastionLog does not answer whether a company is real. A full report collects records from public sources, each with its source link and time. The free preview only searches official registry names in supported countries and regions and does not produce a report. You keep the judgment.
I only have the other party's website. Can I query?
Yes. A domain is a valid input. Registry facts appear only if the domain can be tied to a legal entity in a public record. Digital-presence facts (WHOIS, DNS, TLS certificates, web archives) still run from the domain itself.
Can I send the report to a bank or a customer?
You can download the PDF and share the check report. It is not a certificate, credit rating, or compliance deliverable. Recipients see sources and timestamps; they keep the judgment.
What does no official record mean?
Each source in a report is marked with one of three results: Log Found, Log Not Found, or Source Unavailable. Log Not Found means the searched source returned no matching record — it does not mean the company is unregistered. Source Unavailable means this run could not read the source.
How much is one report, and how do the two free logs work?
New accounts receive 3 full reports once their e-mail address is confirmed (not refilled monthly). After that, reports are bought one at a time or as a 5-report pack, or come with a monthly plan; current prices are on the pricing page. Free company lookups have their own daily allowance and do not use reports.
When will change tracking be available?
Change tracking is in development and not yet available. We will reconsider public availability only after the system can distinguish a source that could not be collected this time from a record that actually changed.
Can I look up a Mainland China company?
There is no official mainland registry API connected. A third-party aggregator, when enabled, is labelled as aggregator data sourced from the national disclosure system, not as an official registry. Domain, TLS, archives, and public-list checks still run. The log points to gsxt.gov.cn for a manual official check.
Free preview, single lookup, or full report — which one?
Free preview: a name search of official registry records in supported countries and regions; it does not produce a PDF. Single lookup: one identifier (company, domain, or registration number). Full report: company registration, online footprint, reputation and linked companies together, as a web page and a PDF.
How do I get started in three steps?
1. Enter a company name, domain, or registration number. 2. Read the free preview and pick a candidate. 3. Generate the report and download the PDF. The Getting started page walks through each step.
Is the sample report a live query of a real company?
No. The sample is a constructed snapshot of a fictional company, marked Sample · not a live query. It shows what a full report looks like and does not use the reports you get at sign-up.
